Text to Columns

 


Consider a situation where you have a column of names in alphabetical order, but you like to have them separated into two columns. After choosing your data, click Text to Columns under the Data tab (top). You can choose to divide them up using fixed widths or delimiters (based on spaces or commas, which work well for CSV data values). When all the information must fit into the first column yet must be separated by a set number of spaces or periods, fixed width is used. The remaining steps are magical, offering extra choices for particular integers.
